Guess what. Its Independence Day for Zimbos all over the world. For most Zimbos this day just came and passed by like any other day. We really have no reason to celebrate since most of us have realized that we have not truly attained Independence. Yes we no longer are ruled by the minority but instead we are ruled by hunger, unemployment, inflation, daily price hikes on everything, poor standards of living and lack of freedom. The situation in Zimbabwe today is pathetic and I feel for the lower class as they feel the wrath of the current situation in full force. Aids is killing thousands each day and those affected most are - you guessed it the lower class as they cannot afford proper nutrition and medication. Enough about, let me focus on what we do best - partying. Perhaps this is the subconscious response to all the turmoil in Zim.
On Saturday DJ Aftershock here in Detroit hosted an African party. Turnout was okay but there was trouble with some of the girls who attempted to get in but were under the age of 21. Besides that the party went well and yours truly DJ Swing managed top drop a couple of your old time favorite Zimbo tunes.
On Saturday DJ Swing celebrates another year gone by and everyone is invited. Event is at Rumors bar and Grill in Downtown Pontiac, Michigan. Stay cool ma peoples. The struggle continues.....
