Sekuru Bob

Word up Zimbo party Central. It has been a while since ya'll heard from your host DJ Swing. Well today I would like to showcase an upcoming Zimbo artist known as Sekuru Bob. His work can be seen on www.sekurubob.com. DJ Swing gives sekuru bob an overall rating of five stars. His music speaks to everyone in the diaspora. Here is an excerpt from the site:

Sekuru Bob is a exciting young artist from Zimbabwe by way of Detroit, London and Toronto. Sekuru Bob dreams of a stronger Zimbabwe and those dreams translate into amazing heartfelt songs. With fresh melodies encased in lush musical backdrops the music of Sekuru Bob will entice, soothe, energize and excite you. His lyrics are like chewing gum for the mind. Welcome to the world of a revolutionary poet.

Silver Studios, based in Toronto, Canada is a music production/creative arts studio. We are a part of the Listen Without Borders initiative (http://www.listenwithoutborders.com/).

"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere". Until we truly "listen without borders" and pursue justice without regard to race, religion and culture, we remain unevolved.

Dhora($)
This song talks about how Zimbabweans go overseas and sacrifice a lot for the sake of having money in their pockets. They take up all sorts of jobs in order to raise money to feed their families back home. Some of these jobs may even affect their health later on in life.

Vanochema
Parents are asking when they are going to see their sons and daughters that have vanished in the Diaspora for a long time without signs of coming back home. It also goes to talk about how the ruling regime is going around destroying people's homes and properties in the so called Operation Murambatsvina, which is illegal.

Step Down
This is a very polite message to the Zimbabwean leadership that is not willing to give up or share power. It is a message asking them to give up power to the younger generation that can save our country from total collapse. They do not want to admit that they have failed and are running the country like their own bedrooms.

Musandidzorera
Please don't send me back home. I have stayed overseas for a long time now and all my relatives have fled the country in search of greener pastures in the USA , Mozambique , Botswana , SA, UK , etc. Police officers please don't send me back because my kids are American, and I have acquired properties here in the USA as well.

Chitsiga
A tree stub is being identified as an obstacle to unity, peace economic prosperity as well as political and social stability. This obstacle has been standing for too long and now is the time to remove it. It has forced people to leave the country for Dallas , London , New York . Jo'burg, and even in some cities that are beyond our imagination. Now is the time to take action.

Musha waparara
We have reached the final phase of Zimbabwe 's downfall. People have abandoned this country and are not willing to work together to find a solution. Nobody has the guts to stand up and challenge the very corrupt and illegitimate leadership that is ruling our country Zimbabwe . People cannot afford basic commodities and prices are rising overnight.
