I know we are still a couple of months from April but in most US and UK locales plans are already underway for Independence Day Celebrations. Zimbabwe's independence was attained on April 18, 1980 and it has become tradition for most in the diaspora to celebrate this ocassion. Most of this year's celebrations will be hosted either on April 15 or April 22 which happen to be Saturdays. The actual day April 18 will fall on a weekday. In the US the state of Texas has a considerable Zimbo population and celebrations are anticipated to be big. Do you know of or are you planning any independence day celebrations? Let us know.
